The Guild has been meeting online throughout 2020 and have a full and varied online programme planned for 2021

If you would like to join us then please get in touch, and we can send you the details of our online meetings.

Who are we?

Pwy ydyn ni?

We are a group of like-minded individual who love to spin, weave, dye and create objects using thread and yarn.
We meet monthly on the second Saturday, currently at the Community Centre in Forden, about half-way between Montgomery and Welshpool.

The guild was founded in 1973, and has been running on a continuous basis ever since.
We are a member of the National Association of Guild of Weavers, Spinners and Dyers, whose aim is to preserve, and improve the craftmanship of handweaving, spinning and dyeing for the benefit of the public and to promote public education of these crafts.

Meetings are normally for a full day 10.30am - 3.30pm. We welcome new members, and will happily teach you to spin, if you will need to borrow a wheel please email us in advance. Tuition is unfortunately only available when we have an open meeting, please check the programme for details.
If you can already spin or weave you are more than welcome to come along to any meeting, we love having visitors.
If you would like us to visit your show/event/community group to talk about our craft please get in touch.

The Guild is open to all. Welsh Language speakers welcomed, English is the predominant language spoken in meetings, but many members have some Welsh Language skills and we are actively looking to increase our usage of Welsh.
Rydym yn grŵp o unigolion o'r un anian sy’n mwynhau nyddu, gwehyddu, lliwio a chreu gwrthrychau gydag edafedd.
Rydym yn cyfarfod bob mis ar yr ail ddydd Sadwrn, ar hyn o bryd yn y Ganolfan Gymunedol yn Ffordun, tua hanner ffordd rhwng Trefaldwyn a'r Trallwng.

Sefydlwyd yr urdd yn 1973, ac mae wedi’i gynnal yn ddi-dor ers hynny.
Rydym yn aelod o Gymdeithas Genedlaethol Urdd y Gwehyddion, Nyddwyr a Lliw-wyr, a’i nod yw diogelu a gwella’r grefft o wehyddu, nyddu a lliwio er budd y cyhoedd a hyrwyddo ac addysgu’r crefftau hyn i’r cyhoedd.

Mae cyfarfodydd fel arfer yn para diwrnod llawn rhwng 10.30am a 3.30pm. Mae croeso i aelodau newydd, ac rydym yn barod iawn i’ch dysgu sut i nyddu, os oes angen benthyg troell arnoch, anfonwch e-bost atom ymlaen llaw. Yn anffodus, dim ond pan fyddwn yn cael cyfarfod agored y mae hyfforddiant ar gael, gwiriwch y rhaglen am fanylion.
Os gallwch nyddu neu wehyddu’n barod, mae croeso mawr i chi ddod draw i unrhyw gyfarfod, rydym wrth ein bodd yn croesawu ymwelwyr.
Os hoffech i ni ymweld â'ch sioe/digwyddiad/grŵp cymunedol i siarad am ein crefft, cysylltwch â ni.

Mae'r Urdd yn agored i bawb. Croesewir siaradwyr Cymraeg, Saesneg yw'r brif iaith a siaredir mewn cyfarfodydd, ond mae llawer o aelodau yn siarad rhywfaint o Gymraeg ac rydym yn awyddus i gynyddu ein defnydd o'r Gymraeg.

Get In Touch.

If you want to learn how to weave or spin then please get in touch.

If you have fleeces you want spun in to yarn then please remember this is a skilled, time-consuming craft. It is  much cheaper to have wool commercially spun than it is to pay a craftsperson.
